§ 26-2. Authority to grant franchise.

The governing body of the city is authorized to grant the right, privilege and franchise to construct, operate and maintain a CATV system in the streets of the city for a period of 15 years from and after the passage, acceptance and effective date of the franchise, subject to the conditions and restrictions as provided in this article; and such right, privilege and franchise may be granted to any qualified applicant who, upon the proper showing, shall fulfill all the requirements and conditions of this chapter and franchise.
