§ 3-7. Conflicts of interest, generally.
(a)
Elected and appointed officials shall not engage in, accept employment with, receive services from or render services to any private business, individual, or entity when such employment or rendering of services is adverse to and/or incompatible with the proper discharge of his or her official duties or would otherwise tend to impair said official's independence of judgment in the performance of his/her official duties.
(b)
Elected and appointed officials shall not enter into contracts with any individual or professional entity if said contract would compromise the efficient operation of city government or otherwise conflict with any interest of the city.
