§ 74-34. Separate connections.

  • Each residence and user of the city water and sewerage system shall be required to have a separate and individual connection to the system and no water or sewer connection shall be extended to any other residence or user; provided, however, apartment houses, roominghouses and similar multiple dwellings may have a common connection with the permission of the city manager. Any property owner or other person who shall extend lines to any residence, tenant, or user other than the principal or original tenant, user or residence shall be deemed to be personally liable for the payment of all costs incurred by all tenants, users or residences served through the same meter, and the city shall have the right to discontinue water service until the owner pays all costs as set forth above. Tenants seeking a separate water connection may be connected to the city system on payment of all costs and expenses of making the connection and the appropriate deposit for service.
