§ 49. City's share.

  • Be it further enacted, that if the said City of Riverdale has in its treasury a sufficient manner of funds, the mayor and council may, by appropriate ordinance, direct that such money be expended for the purpose of paying the expense of improving such streets, avenues, alleys and public places and such expenditures shall be treated and considered as a current expense of the operation of said city, and this may be done without referring the question to the qualified voters of said city and without the necessity of any election to decide such questions.
