§ 60. Communicable diseases.

Be it further enacted, that said mayor and councilmen shall have power and authority to enact ordinances for the purpose of preventing the spread of any contagious or infectious disease[,] to declare and maintain quarantine regulations against such diseases, and punish for violation of any quarantine regulations of said city. They shall have power to compel all persons to be vaccinated, whether they be permanent residents or sojourners, and may provide vaccination points and employ physicians at the expense of the town to vaccinate all persons who are unable to procure such vaccination, and may provide by ordinance punishment for persons failing to be vaccinated.
