§ 73. Fire protection.

Be it further enacted, that the mayor and councilmen of said city may provide fire protection and they shall have power to organize and equip a fire department, either paid or volunteer, to make such appropriations as may be advisable for this purpose, and provide any buildings necessary therefor and adopt such ordinances and regulations as will best promote the object of this section and the protection of property from fire.
