§ 22-282. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Facility for the congregation for commercial purposes means any facility operated as a commercial, for-profit enterprise which (either exclusively, for individual programs or for special events) caters to minors and/or young adults 21 years of age and under who may patronize such establishments without adult supervision, and which has or can reasonably expect to attract 150 or more such patrons at any given time. Examples include, but are not limited to, movie houses, skating rinks, amusement parks, and teen clubs.

    Premises, in addition to the building and any curtilage normally considered as appurtenant thereto, also includes all public and private parking areas adjacent to the building on the same parcel regardless of size or public or private parking areas utilized by patrons.
