§ 2-203. Local preference bonus.

Latest version.
  • (a)

A company considered local in a specific jurisdiction under this article shall receive a single bonus added to the preliminary score that the City of Riverdale awarded to its bid. A company is entitled to receive only one of the bonuses outlined below and the highest available bonus shall apply. The local preference bonus for each of the relevant jurisdictions shall be:

    (1)

For companies considered local to the City of Riverdale, Georgia, the local preference bonus shall be ten percent of the preliminary score; or

    (2)

For companies considered local to Clayton County, Georgia, the local preference bonus shall be seven percent of the preliminary score; or

    (3)

For companies considered local to the State of Georgia the local preference bonus shall be five percent of the preliminary score.

    (b)

After the award of the local preference bonus, the City of Riverdale will decide whether to award a contract and, if it decides to do so, shall award the contract to the bid with the highest total score unless the price exceeds the differential outlined below. For companies considered local to a relevant jurisdiction, the total score shall be the preliminary score plus the local preference bonus. For companies not considered local in a relevant jurisdiction, the total score shall be identical to the preliminary score.

    (c)

The bids of companies eligible for a local preference bonus from more than one relevant jurisdiction shall receive the largest local preference bonus for which the company is eligible. A bid may receive only one local preference bonus. All local preference bonuses must equal the bonus associated with only one of the relevant jurisdictions.
